Visitors

Well I am writing right now from Traverse City.  I flew in here last night and we had the whole day here.  It has been a lot of fun.  The crew all went out for pizza and then the other flight attendant and I spent some time going in and out of some shops.  I have not had a ton of layovers that I can look around the town so its been a lot of fun.

I had Thanksgiving off which was a lot of fun.  I loved being able to go home for a few days.  Mom came up the Sunday after and it was great to spend the day with here.  This past Sunday dad and Chuck came up for a concert and stayed with me.  Its been fun having some family come up.

Family and Friends ;)

Wow I cannot even believe that this week has gone by.  The days seem so long but at the same time the weeks go by so fast!

This past Sunday was such a great day! My mom was able to get a flight out here =) She came in on the 7:15 flight and was here around 8:30.  We spent the morning at a restaurant in the airport talking about training and the future and comparing a lot of things.  It was so nice to have her here to talk to and relieve some of my stress too!  Aunt Sharon and Erik drove up as well.  They picked us up at the airport around 11 and we all four went to the Zoo.  It was so much fun!!!! We ate lunch by the farm animals and I got to see the pigs! It was so great.

I loved being able to catch up with Erik and his life along with Aunt Sharon's.  After the zoo we went to the mall and looked at some luggage.  Aunt Sharon and Erik took us back to the airport around 5:30.  It was sad to see them leave.  Mom and I grabbed some dinner and ice cream which was delicious!  I walked her to the gate and they had a seat for her which was great because it was the last flight of the day.  Even though she was there for about 12 hours and Aunt Sharon and Erik for even less than that it felt so much longer! I had a blast and it was the best time that I have had since I have been here!!!

We also got Monday off of class because they had divided us into two groups and I was in the second group.  I slept in for the first time and got to relax all day.  Beki picked me up after she got off of work.  I really needed to do laundry and she said I could at her house.  When we got there Bert had made salmon for dinner which was spectacular.  I helped her make some banana bread for the Bible study she was hosting that night.  Beth came over for the Bible study and so did some other girls.  It was so nice to be able to relax and be with some long time friends.

This past week has not been as bad with the long days or even as many test.  We did have a few and I passed them all.  This morning we had our planned emergency test which I was very nervous for.  I was the first to go for it.  I went into a room with an instructor and said my commands and the drills that were needed.  It was very nerve wrecking but I ended up doing fine.  Hopefully, we can get out tonight and go to dinner or a movie to celebrate only three more days of class!!!

Thank you for all the prayers!

Long Days

This past weekend was definately a good time.  On Saturday me and three of my friends here went to the Mall of America and really had a great time.  We had an exam on monday so we all decided to study on sunday.  There were two exams on monday, one was written and the other was an oral exam.  I did very well on both.  We had two more yesterday and a city codes quiz today.  Things are starting to get very stressful!!  We have a few more exams this week still so hopefully I can keep doing well on them.  The days keep getting longer.  Getting there at 715 in the morning and then staying until 8 or 9 every night this week is starting to take a toll on us.  We do have class on Saturday so hopefully that night I will be able to catch up on some sleep.

Last week wednesday I got to go out with Jim and Grace!  Beth Beki and Bert were all able to make it too.  We went to dinner and then back to Beki and Bert's house which is soo cute!  It was such a great time seeing them.  It is great knowing they are only 10 minutes away during all of this.  Hopefully, if my days start to get shorter, I will be able to see them again.

Minnesota!!!

Well it has been a crazy last few days!!  Today was our second day of training.  It has been a lot of fun and excitement along with a lot of work.  The days are very long.  We are gone from 7:15 in the morning until 6:15 at night.  There is so much information that it gets quite overwhelming at times.  We have homework every night that consist of reading and memorizing.  There is a lot of lecture at this point but we should be doing more hands on things very soon.

My roommates name is Melody and she is 20 as well.  She is a lot like me so we are always goofing off which is a nice break from the training.  We both have our own rooms which is nice. There is a mini-kitchen in our room so we went to the store on Sunday to get food so that we do not have to eat out every night.

I am still very overwhelmed with everything and it is really hard for me to gather all of my thoughts.  I am really enjoying myself and working hard to memorize get everything done.  I definately miss everyone back home and in Grand Rapids and can not wait to see everyone!!

It was so great to go to Michaels game last night.  It will probably be the last one that I will see for a while now.  I made this sweatshirt for him two year ago and we have always wanted this picture!! I am so glad that the mission was finally accomplished
